Nothing has recently launched two new products in Malaysia: Phone (3), the brand’s first flagship smartphone, and Headphone (1), its debut entry for the over-ear headphones market. Both are set to be generally available starting August 1, 2025, with pre-orders now live.

The Nothing Phone (3) is powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 processor, paired with up to 16 GB RAM and 512 GB storage; it also features a 6.67-inch 120Hz AMOLED display with 2800×1260 resolution and rated for up to 4500 nits peak brightness. The 5150mAh silicon-carbon battery supports 65W wired and 15W wireless charging, and it also carries IP68 water and dust resistance and a new tri-column rear design.

While the new flagship has done away with Nothing’s signature ‘Glyph Interface’ on the back that featured several LEDs, in its place is the new micro-LED ‘Glyph Matrix’ display that offers visual notifications, app-specific alerts, and tools like timers and progress indicators. The company is offering public SDKs for third-party developers and its community to get creative, and you can expect more features and even some mini-games to live on this tiny display.

The smartphone comes with Android 15-based Nothing OS 3.5 out of the box, with Android 16 and Nothing OS 4.0 arriving in Q3 2025; the company also promises five years of Android updates and seven years of security support. For colors, it is available in black and white, and pricing starts at RM3,299 for the 12GB+256GB model, with the 16GB+512GB model costing RM3,799.

Alongside the phone, Nothing also debuts the Headphone (1) as the brand’s first over-ear headphones. Co-developed with British audio company KEF, the Headphone (1) includes custom 40mm dynamic drivers and supports Hi-Res Audio, LDAC, USB-C lossless playback, and 3.5mm input. A quartet of microphones is responsible for its noise cancellation capabilities for both listening and calling, and it comes built-in with a head tracking system to be paired with spatial audio as well.

Physically, Headphone (1) uses transparent elements to give the device a more retro-inspired looks; instead of touch controls, Nothing opted for physical interfaces including Roller, Paddle, and Button to give users a more reliable way of interfacing with the device – I for one greatly appreciates this design decision.

Battery life reaches up to 35 hours with ANC, and a 5-minute charge is good for 2.4 hours of use. It also comes with Bluetooth Multipoint and Fast Pair support, while Nothing X software offers an 8-band EQ for further audio tuning. As for pricing, Nothing Headphone (1) is priced at RM1,099, and the color options include Black and White.

Pokdepinion: Carl Pei said “Tech has become boring,” and I couldn’t agree more with this statement – good to see this brand is bringing some creativity back.
