OPPO has unveiled that its upcoming Find X8 and Find X8 Pro smartphones will feature the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 SoC (system-on-a-chip), marking the first global-bound device to be equipped with the new flagship chipset. In the meantime, the company says further details about the Find X8 series and its global launch will be announced soon.

OPPO Find X8 feat. Dimensity 9400

The Dimensity 9400 introduces MediaTek’s second-generation All Big Core architecture, featuring a 3.62GHz Arm Cortex-X925 core alongside 3 Cortex-X4 and 4 Cortex-A720 cores. This configuration provides a 35% improvement in single-core (15% from IPC alone) and a 28% boost in multi-core performance compared to the previous generation. Power efficiency is improved by 40% overall in part due to the process node upgrade to TSMC’s second-generation 3nm process, which should mean longer battery life.

On the GPU side, it comes with the 12-core Arm Immortalis-G925 GPU, offering 40% faster raytracing performance and PC-level features like opacity micromaps (OMM) for improved graphical effects. The GPU achieves a 41% peak performance boost with up to 44% greater efficiency, and OPPO says its cooling system is capable of maintaining “consistent, high frame rates” in demanding titles.

The chipset also features MediaTek’s 8th Generation NPU, delivering up to 80% faster performance for large language model tasks while being 35% more energy-efficient; for imaging, MediaTek’s Imagiq 1090 ISP combines with the Find X8 series’ Hasselblad Master Camera System and HyperTone Image Engine to offer improved image quality, while 4K60 recording now uses 14% less power to help maintain longer shooting sessions. Connectivity upgrades include OPPO’s AI LinkBoost and Xtra Range 3.0 technologies, providing enhanced connection stability and up to 30 meters of additional Wi-Fi coverage.
