realme GT 2 Pro makes it mark as the most affordable Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 flagship in Malaysia!
realme has just taken the wraps off the realme GT 2 Pro, their latest flagship featuring the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. The realme GT 2 Pro is also launched as the most affordable device to feature Qualcomm’s latest flagship mobile chipset, provided that you can get it during its pre-order period that’s starting tomorrow until 31st March.
realme GT 2 Pro: the most affordable Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 flagship in Malaysia?
The realme GT 2 Pro doesn’t pull its punches, offering a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 cooled by a 9-layer stainless steel vapor chamber. As the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 is infamous for running rather warm, the cooling should allow for improved sustained performance. This is paired up with 12GB LPDDR5 memory and 256GB of storage. Yes, realme Malaysia is only offering a single configuration, and it’s the maxed out specs. Nice.
Aside from the flagship performance, realme also boasts of its world’s first 2K AMOLED flat display with LTPO 2.0 technology. For those who find curved displays not to their tastes, this is probably the most advanced flat display you can find. You get what realme dubs as the Super Reality Display with the realme GT 2 Pro, delivering 10-bit color depth and a peak brightness of 1400 nits. Thanks to the LTPO display, the refresh rate can range from 1Hz to 120Hz, depending on the content displayed to conserve power.
Speaking of power, the realme GT 2 Pro features a 5000mAh battery that supports 65W SuperDart charge, promising a full charge in just 33 minutes. Meanwhile for photography enthusiasts, the realme GT 2 Pro offers a dual 50MP camera setup with an additional 40X magnification micro-lens camera 2.0, allowing for super close-up macro shots, if you are into that. The selfie camera is a 32MP one for some awesome self portraits.

The realme GT 2 Pro is available in White and Black, with the white variant featuring a bio-based polymer that gives off a premium paper texture in the hand. The finish was developed with Naoto Fukasawa, realme’s long-term design collaborator that has given us various Master Edition products in the past. Harping on the environmental-friendliness of the paper-like finish, realme also promises three years of major OS updates and four years of security patches to extend the usable lifespan of the realme GT 2 Pro.

Pokdepinion: It’s nice to see realme make waves again in the flagship space. It’s been quite quiet for some time in that segment. Welcome back, realme.
