The realme 3 Pro was an awesome mid-range device which offered a Snapdragon 710 at the very affordable price of just RM899. Taking it up a notch is the realme X, which offers pretty similar specifications, except that it now does not have a notch.

Yay, no bezels!

In place of the realme 3 Pro’s 6.3″ screen waterdrop notch, the realme X has a 6.53″ bezel-less display with a 91.2% screen-to-body ratio. The 16MP f/2.0 selfie camera is now placed on a popup mechanism, similar to what the OPPO F11 Pro offers. For those who are disgusted by the use of microUSB on the realme 3 Pro, the realme X now sports a USB-C port instead. The rear camera setup is exactly the same as the realme 3 Pro, with a 48MP + 5MP dual camera setup.

Inspired by none other than onions. Hope it doesn’t make you cry.

For those who missed the realme 2 Pro’s UFS 2.1 storage, the realme X brings it back. It can be gotten in configurations with up to 8GB RAM and 128GB storage, as well as a RMB 1899 (~RM1152) Master Edition which offers the same amount of RAM and storage but features a special design by Naoto Fukasawa inspired by onions and garlic.

realme X Specs

  • Snapdragon 710, octa-core up to 2.2 GHz, 10nm FinFET
  • Up to 8GB LPDDR4x RAM
  • Up to 128GB UFS 2.1 storage (non-expandable)
  • 6.53″ FHD+ AMOLED display, under-display fingerprint scanner
  • 48MP f/1.7 Sony IMX 586 + 5MP f/2.4 rear camera
  • 16MP f/2.0 selfie camera, popup mechanism
  • 3765 mAh battery, 20W VOOC Flash Charge 3.0
  • ColorOS 6 based on Android 9 Pie
  • 4GB + 64GB: 1499 CNY (~RM909)
    6GB + 64GB: 1599 CNY (~RM970)
    8GB + 128GB: 1799 CNY (~RM1091)
    Master Edition 8GB + 128GB: 1899 CNY (~RM1152)

The regular realme X will be available in blue and white, while the realme X Master Edition will be offered in a brownish and whitish tone, inspired by the aforementioned condiments. China availability commences this 20th May, while other markets will see it arrive shortly. But do we really need a realme X when we already have the realme 3 Pro with much of the same specifications?

Pokdepinion: The white realme X looks fantastic, but the realme 3 Pro offers the same package… But cheaper.
