Redmi 10X 5G series launched with 5G support from just 1599 CNY
The Redmi 10X is now official, with it being launched as what might be the most affordable 5G-capable smartphone to date. The Redmi 10X 5G and Redmi 10X Pro 5G both feature the MediaTek Dimensity 820, which probably helped Redmi keep costs low on the new 5G smartphones.
Interestingly, despite its mid-range ambitions, Xiaomi decided to name it the Redmi 10X 5G instead of making it a member of the Redmi Note family. But by looking at the design, you can clearly see that it will fit right in with the current Redmi Note 9 lineup. But of course the Redmi 10X series are actually quite different under the hood aside from chipset.
For starters, both the Redmi 10X 5G and 10X Pro 5G tout 6.57″ OLED displays, which are a clear step up from the Redmi Note 9 series’ LCD panels. The battery of the Redmi 10X 5G series is also rather small, coming in at 4520 mAh. The Redmi 10X 5G settles for just 22.5W fast charging, while the Redmi 10X Pro 5G gets faster 33W charging.
The cameras are also quite different between the two, with the Redmi 10X Pro 5G getting an 8MP 3x zoom camera and a 5MP macro camera instead of the Redmi 10X 5G’s 2MP depth sensor and 2MP macro camera. Here’s a breakdown of the specifications:

The Redmi 10X Pro 5G also sports NFC, with the Redmi 10X 5G does without it. In addition to the Redmi 10X 5G duo, there’s also a Redmi 10X 4G, which appears to be a rebrand of the Redmi Note 9 introduced globally. Prices start from 999 CNY (~RM611) for the 4GB + 128GB variant.
