Redmi K30 5G Racing Edition with Snapdragon 768G available for pre-order at ~RM1223 in China
The Redmi K30 5G Racing Edition has just been launched in China. In case you missed our earlier coverage, the Redmi K30 5G Racing Edition (which was previously directly translated as the Redmi K30 5G Speed Edition) is a beefed up variant of the Redmi K30 5G, packing a faster Snapdragon 768G chipset that’s essentially an overclocked version of the Snapdragon 765G in the Redmi K30 5G.
Qualcomm’s latest mid-range chipset now has the main CPU core running at up to 2.8 GHz, up from 2.4 GHz in the Snapdragon 765G. The Adreno 620 GPU also runs at a higher 750 MHz frequency now. Qualcomm claims that the Snapdragon 768G delivers up to 15% better graphics performance than the Snapdragon 765G. The bumped up GPU performance may be to deliver a better user experience with the 120 Hz display in the Redmi K30 5G Racing Edition.
There are essentially no other differences aside from the chipset, and the Redmi K30 5G Racing Edition is actually offered at the same price of 1999 CNY (~RM1223) as the Redmi K30 5G. Quite surprising considering the faster chipset at play here. It will only be available in one configuration though, with the Redmi K30 5G Racing Edition sporting 6GB RAM and 128GB storage.
