Samsung Malaysia has officially announced the Samsung Galaxy S26 FE, and it is launching in Malaysia on 4th September 2026. As the latest addition to the Galaxy S26 family, it also has the distinction of being the first in the S26 lineup to ship with One UI 9 out of the box, built on Android 17. Here is a breakdown of what it brings to the table.
Performance and Software

Under the hood, the Samsung Galaxy S26 FE runs on the Exynos 2500, Samsung’s own 3nm chip. It comes with 8GB of RAM across all three storage configurations.
One UI 9 brings a few AI-driven updates worth knowing about. Now Brief gets more personalisation options, including the ability to create custom briefing cards. Now Nudge has been expanded to cover more third-party apps and notifications, and Circle to Search with Google now lets you search for multiple items in an image at once rather than one at a time.
Display and Battery

The display is a 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 1,900 nits of brightness. It is an FHD+ resolution panel, which is standard for this tier.
Battery capacity sits at 4,900mAh, and Samsung has included 45W wired charging support, though the adapter is sold separately. With a compatible 45W charger, you can get to around 69 percent in approximately 30 minutes. Wireless charging is also supported at 15W, and the phone can reverse wirelessly charge other Qi-compatible devices.
Camera

The Samsung Galaxy S26 FE comes with a triple rear camera setup. The main shooter is a 50MP wide camera with OIS and an f/1.8 aperture, supported by a 12MP ultra-wide and an 8MP telephoto with 3x optical zoom and up to 30x digital zoom. The front camera has been bumped up to 12MP as well, which Samsung says captures a wider field of view compared to the previous generation.
A few camera features worth noting; My FanCam, which was first introduced on Samsung’s foldable lineup, makes its way to the S26 FE. It automatically tracks a selected person and keeps them centred as the scene moves, which is handy for concert footage or sports recordings. Super Steady with Horizontal Lock is also here for smoother handheld video, and Nightography carries forward Samsung’s low-light photography tuning.

On the AI side, Photo Assist lets you edit images using natural language prompts, and Gemini Omni is available for video creation, though the latter does require a Google AI Pro subscription. Samsung is bundling a six-month Google AI Pro trial with the phone, which also comes with 5TB of cloud storage.
Build and Other Details

The Samsung Galaxy S26 FE measures 161.6 x 76.9 x 7.4mm and weighs 193 grams, keeping it on the slimmer and lighter side. It carries an IP68 water and dust resistance rating. Connectivity covers 5G, Wi-Fi 6E, and Bluetooth 5.4.
Samsung is committing to seven generations of OS upgrades and seven years of security updates from the global launch date, which is a solid long-term software support promise.
On the switching side, Smart Switch has been improved to make it easier to move from both Android and iOS devices wirelessly, including the ability to transfer passwords, passkeys, call history, and eSIM data without needing extra apps.

Pokdepinion: Here I thought they would use the same Exynos 2600 as the Z Flip8 but I suppose that’s how they’re drawing the line between the FE and its three siblings. It’s still a pretty good chip but when faced with the option of going for a newer 2nm chip, you’re gonna hear quite a bit of grumbling from the crowd.
