Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4 Comes With Much Needed Upgrades
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4
Arguably the more popular choice among the two foldables, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4 is the newest compact foldable smartphone by the Korean giant. Like its sibling, it does look the same as its predecessor but there are a number of changes worth taking note of.
For starters, it’s powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, which is faster and more efficient than the older Snapdragon 888 that’s prone to overheating. The display has improved adaptive refresh rate, now going from 1Hz to 120Hz for better energy efficiency. The chassis now comes with a more matte finish as opposed to the glossy finish of its predecessor to make it more resistant to smudges.
The best improvement here is the battery capacity, which has been bumped up from 3,400mAh to 3,700mAh. That, together with a more efficient chip and improved adaptive refresh rate, should bring a substantial upgrade in battery life, which is something many people have been clamoring for.

It’s being said that the reason for not bring massive changes in this iteration is due to higher manufacturing costs and to push this further into the mainstream, hence the improved aftersales support. Likely next year when the costs have gone down, we might see drastic changes in both foldables.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4 will have a retail price starting from RM4,099 to RM4,899, while the Bespoke Edition going for RM4,599, with warranty now going for 2 years and free screen protector change up to 3 times in case it peels off. There will be a special trade-in program which guarantees 55% savings when trading in, instant rebate, and you can trade up to five devices.
Pokdepinion: I still believe that this will be the more popular choice among the two foldables, not just because of the price but also because of its compact size and stylishness. I’m personally hoping that the battery life is indeed noticeably better.
