Xiaomi has announced Xiaomi 17T and Xiaomi 17T Pro smartphones as latest additions to its T series lineup. While not much has changed on the outside, there’s some fairly significant upgrades in terms of internals, including new 5x telephoto lens and silicon-carbon batteries with big increase in capacity.
Xiaomi 17T Series

Both smartphones come equipped with a triple-camera system centered around a 50MP main camera; the 17T Pro uses a 1/1.31-inch sensor, while the regular 17T features a smaller 1/1.55-inch sensor instead. Both models incorporate Leica UltraPure optical design and a Leica Summilux lens structure with a 1G+6P hybrid configuration. Also, for the first time in the T Series, the 5x telephoto camera is now standard on both models instead of being a Pro-only perk beforehand.
New this time is a camera feature called Leica Live Moment, and you can think of it as Xiaomi’s version of Apple Live photo feature, with “Leica’s signature aesthetic.” It works on both standard mode and portrait mode, plus Leica watermarks and collage creation options. Xiaomi 17T Pro also gets the exclusive Live cinematography modes include Ultra-HD Live Moment in 4K alongside additional zoom and portrait-focused video effects.

Powering the Xiaomi 17T Pro is a 7,000mAh silicon-carbon battery, which the company claims is the largest battery used in its international model to date, alongside support for 100W wired and 50W wireless fast charging. The Xiaomi 17T features a 6,500mAh battery paired with 67W fast charging support. The chipset powering them are MediaTek Dimensity 9500 and MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Ultra, respectively.
On the display side, both smartphones feature a 1.5K AMOLED display with peak brightness of up to 3,500 nits, and as low as 1 nit for the 17T Pro; said model also adopts LIPO display packaging technology to achieve uniform 1.29mm bezels on all four sides. The Xiaomi 17T Series is the first to receive TÜV Rheinland quadruple eye-care certification as well as Xiaomi’s first TÜV Rheinland Intelligent Eye Care certification.
The Xiaomi 17T Pro is offered in three configurations, with the 12+256GB model priced at RM2,899, the 12+512GB variant at RM3,199, and the 12GB+1TB model at RM3,499, in Deep Blue, Deep Violet, and Black finishes. The Xiaomi 17T is available in Opal White, Violet, Blue, and Black, priced at RM2,399 for the online-exclusive 12+256GB variant and RM2,499 for the 12+512GB version.
Pokdepinion: Pretty surprised it took this long for T series to get high-capacity SiC batteries.
