LG Unveils New Gaming UI and Cloud Gaming Services
LG is expanding the gaming experience on its latest TV lineup with the addition of new gaming-centric features such as new UI update and cloud-gaming services.
Blacknut and Utomik Cloud, arriving on LG TVs in September and November respectively, are set to deliver titles including classic AAA games, indie titles, sports, strategy and more. These services can be enabled via monthly subscriptions and all titles featured in the apps will be ready to play instantly – additionally, new titles will be added to the catalog every month.
Blacknut subscribers will be offered with 500 PC and console titles with support up to five players’ profiles for families. The catalog offers the largest collection of racing and sports games, as well as critically-acclaimed titles such as Metro Exodus, Overcooked, and more.
On the contrary, Utomik Cloud presents subscribers with more than 100 curated titles from it’s 1,300+ PC games library covering diverse genres, including indie favourites such as Coffee Talk, My Time at Portia and Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion, among many other highlights.
These new features will be available starting this months on LG Apps Store, with LG TVs running on webOS 6.0 and webOS 2022. The new UI update also brings the Gaming Shelf section, which houses games from multiple cloud gaming services including NVIDIA GeForce NOW, and more to be added in the future updates.
Pokdepinion: With recent focus on gaming-centric features from many TV manufacturers, an in-house cloud gaming service does sound like a logical step forward for them.
