Samsung announced its One UI 8 Watch update for the Galaxy Watch Ultra is now live, extending new health tracking features previously introduced with the Galaxy Watch8 series, which debuted earlier this month. As part of the new update, the Galaxy Watch Ultra now includes features such as Running Coach, Vascular Load, and Antioxidant Index.

The One UI 8 Watch interface improves on a few things: Multi-Info Tiles allow users to customize and access data such as health metrics and weather updates in a single view, while the Now Bar feature keeps frequently used apps and functions within immediate reach. The Galaxy Watch Ultra is the first model to receive this update, beating even the upcoming Galaxy Watch8 series (which gets the new OS out of the box) since they’re yet to be released at this time.

The update is also bringing Google Gemini integration, along with the three new features mentioned in the top part of this article. Speaking of which, since these features require the new BioActive sensor, earlier models – even if they do receive the software update – will not get these features. In case you missed it, the Galaxy Watch Ultra now includes the newly added Titanium Blue for its 2025 refresh, along with expanded storage.

Samsung confirms that One UI 8 Watch update will be progressively made available to other Galaxy Watch models, though no timeline is given for its rollout plans.

Pokdepinion: At least flagship watch owners got the perks of being first.
