A number of major gaming events this year had to be cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Naturally, we expected Electronic Arts’ EA Play 2020 to not take place as well but lo and behold, it’s still going to happen, but in an all-new digital format.
It was first announced on the company’s official Twitter, where it was revealed that EA Play 2020 will be taking place on 11th June 2020 at 4PM PST. That is the equivalent of 12th June 2020 at 7AM in Malaysia (GMT+8).
What to Expect at EA Play 2020
As usual with the annual show, we’re expected to see some major announcements, “world premieres”, and more. However, there’s no telling as to exactly what the company has up their sleeves. For existing games, we could expect some announcements related to Apex Legends, FIFA, Madden, and Star Wars.
For new game announcements, it’s really hard to say. While we are certain that the company is currently working on games like Battlefield 6 and Dragon Age 4, those games won’t be releasing this year. Usually, they would focus on games that will be coming within the current fiscal year. With that being said however, it would still be possible to see teasers for those games.
For now, we will just have to wait and see. We will be reporting more on it as soon as information becomes available so stay tuned for our summary of EA Play 2020.
Pokdepinion: I’m kinda hoping for some big announcements for Apex Legends, something that can really help shake up the game some more. Just a way to make it less stale, especially since we would be well into Season 5 by then.
