Indie Jam 2024 returns for the second year and will take place on 16-17 November, organized by THE MAGIC RAIN with support from Xsolla Curine Academy. This free event aims to increase visibility for locally-made indie games, inviting both gamers and the general public to explore and engage with the regional gaming scene.

The weekend-long event will begin with the Student Game Jam, offering new developers the chance to build skills in game development and pitching. Kicking off with a pitching workshop by Xsolla Curine Academy, the Game Jam will span a week, leading to the final games’ showcase during Indie Jam. Event attendees can vote on the best game entries, with the winner determined by a combination of public voting and evaluations from local game studio judges.
The core feature of Indie Jam 2024 is the Southeast Asian Indie Games Showcase, where attendees can try out various upcoming titles and student-created demos; the event will also host a Stamp Rally, allowing participants to earn prizes by engaging with a range of showcased games. Industry Panels & Talks will run throughout the weekend, featuring speakers from various sectors of game development and media – the discussions will address challenges in the gaming industry and provide insights for aspiring developers.
Anyone can attend Indie Jam free of charge at Xsolla Curine Academy located in KL Eco City, accessible via link bridge to the The Gardens Mall and Mid Valley Megamall. Alternatively, those going by public transport can reach the event via LRT Abdullah Hukum station that also provides link bridge access. The event will run from 10AM – 7PM this weekend.
