Typically when you think of games that are trending, plenty of multiplayer games come to mind. There seems to be less emphasis on single player games as you tend to see titles like Valorant, Apex Legends, and Among Us at the forefront nowadays. A leaked PlayStation research has some interesting data to show.

Leaked PlayStation Research Shows Interesting Data on Single Player Games

According to a report on Vice, a leaked PlayStation research data revealed that single player games are actually thriving. This data also breaks down the PS5’s Activities section.

For single player games, Sony Interactive Entertainment revealed some of the common worries such as whether they have enough time to play them and talking about the game without spoilers. After all, everyone has responsibilities that they have to handle in life, so they can’t spend all day playing games.

As such, PlayStation is wondering how to make single player games a larger part of people’s free time.

We can change ‘should I start playing’ to ‘which part should I start playing? The options are there. The choices are clear. The game is calling. Pick up that controller. It’s time to play.

With the new Activities section, players will be given time estimates for certain tasks in games so they have an idea on whether they have the time to do so. The way the cards are used will vary from game to game. In the case of Marvel’s Spider-Man Miles Morales, it will tell you how long each story mission or side quest will generally take.

Interestingly for games like Astro’s Playroom and Demon’s Souls, you can use it to jump between different levels and worlds. Moreover, it will show you your progress with certain collectibles in the game. It’s supposed to make it easier for every player to enjoy the game, especially for those who need to balance out with their busy lives.
