From the makers of Genshin Impact, Zenless Zone Zero, and many others, HoYoverse has debuted Nodusfall with a world premiere at gamescom 2026 Opening Night Live, unveiling a multi-mythology co-op action game featuring a mythological setting, realistic visuals and cooperative combat.
In the game, divine authority has collapsed, and players take on the role of Weavers who form bonds with companions to confront powerful mythical foes and work towards restoring order to the world.
Nodusfall: What We Know So Far
Nodusfall draws on mythological traditions from around the world, building a self-contained fantasy setting with its own landscapes, civilisations and divine order. Rendered in a realistic art style, the game features a mythic continent populated by creatures ranging from beasts rooted in Eastern mythology to Western dragons associated with calamity. New regions, each with distinct ecology, culture and history, are introduced as players progress through the game.

While drawing on shared mythological motifs, Nodusfall’s narrative is presented as original. The story centers on the arrival of the Dreadnodi, a mysterious force that spreads corruption and twists legendary creatures, leaving the world in ruin. Players take on the role of Weavers (beings shaped by the divine and tasked with missions that affect the fate of the world) who must confront corrupted enemies, sever the Dreadnodi at their source and reclaim remaining divinity to restore order.

Players form squads to battle mythical creatures, with each encounter requiring coordination and tactical adjustment. Characters can be customized through different Styles and Skill combinations, allowing for varied tactical approaches suited to different battle situations and team compositions. Sustained pressure on enemies is intended to expose weaknesses that can be exploited for a finishing blow. Defeating these enemies yields resources used to unlock additional Skills and weapons, expanding player builds over time.
Pokdepinion: Mixing Eastern and Western mythology into one world sounds ambitious – we shall see if the lore holds together.
