Among Us developers, InnerSloth has started issuing temporary bans to players who leave or disconnect from a game intentionally. Apparently the ban has been in effect for a while but not many people were aware of it.

Among Us devs dropping the ban hammer

Apart from cheaters and hackers, players who intentionally leave a game because they weren’t selected as an Impostor have become a huge annoyance in Among Us. To try and curb this hugely problematic issue, InnerSloth have put in place a 5-minute ban for players who disconnect from their games early. According to a screenshot by Sportskeeda, banned players will receive a message informing of them of their 5-minute ban.

Some might say that five minutes may not be a long time but if a player constantly gets 5-minute bans every time they leave a game, it’s definitely something that they’re definitely going to feel.

Among Us was first released back in 2018 but did not explode in popularity until this year when many streamers started playing the regularly on their channels. Coupled with COVID-19 lockdowns across the globe this year, Among Us is now one of the most, if not the most, popular party game right now.

Pokdepinion: Good move, InnerSloth. This issue has been a huge thorn in my people’s sides and I’m glad they are doing something to combat it.
