On gamescom 2026, Monster Hunter Outlanders has revealed its first original Elder Dragon, Ruger Aidal; simultaneously, Capcom announced pre-registration for the game has now expanded to the App Store and Google Play, following the earlier launch of pre-registration on the official website.
Monster Hunter Outlanders’ Flagship Monster: Ruger Aidal

Ruger Aidal is described as Monster Hunter Outlanders’ flagship monster and the first original Elder Dragon introduced in the game. The creature is depicted with large wings resembling arrows of light, giving it an appearance likened to a sun suspended in the sky, with sightings described as rare within the game’s lore surrounding Aesoland.
In the newly released trailer, adventurers encounter a mysterious aurora before Ruger Aidal appears, wreathed in golden and iridescent light. The creature becomes enveloped in an orb resembling a second sun before releasing a burst of light and heat across the surrounding landscape.
Ruger Aidal’s presence affects other monsters on the island through Radiant Particles, transforming them into “Radiant” variants with altered appearance and behavior. Classic Monster Hunter series monsters will also appear in Aesoland, including Rathalos, Rathian, Diablos, Kushala Daora, Anjanath and Nergigante, with some appearing in their Radiant forms as an added challenge.
Pre-Registration & Milestone Rewards

Players can now pre-register for Monster Hunter Outlanders on the App Store or Google Play to receive launch notifications. Pre-registration and community milestone campaigns are also ongoing, with players who pre-register and follow official social media accounts set to receive 20 Standard Contracts, the SR Adventurer “Raya,” and other rewards once designated milestones are reached after launch.
Pokdepinion: A sun-shaped Elder Dragon with light-based attacks sounds like one heck of a boss fight.
