Nintendo Switch Isn’t Expected to See Price Increase
Microsoft isn’t the only one not following in the footsteps of the PS5 as the Nintendo Switch will also not be experiencing a price increase. This will apply to every region the hybrid game console is currently present in.
Nintendo has shared an official statement which mentions about their approach on the current price of the Nintendo Switch given inflation rates and higher production costs:
While we cannot comment on pricing strategies, we currently do not have any plans to change the price of our hardware due to inflation or increased procurement costs in each country. We will determine our future pricing strategies through careful and continued deliberations.
While the final price to consumers is always determined by retailers, as Mr Furukawa stated, Nintendo has no plans to increase the trade price of its hardware.

With this, it basically leaves Sony as the only one increasing their hardware offering with the PlayStation 5 seeing a price increase of roughly up to 10% in most regions. This easily puts it as the priciest next gen console available at the moment, with the Xbox Series S being the cheapest.
While this would be a great opportunity for the Nintendo Switch to capitalize on with regards to hardware sales, some have speculated about potentially seeing new hardware from them being launched. However, there is nothing concrete on that end unfortunately so we will have to wait and see.
Pokdepinion: Given how strong the sales of the console already is, this would only help to solidify their stance further until a true successor arrives. For countries like Malaysia where we rely on specific resellers, we could still see a slight variation in pricing.
