The news was revealed by PlayerIGN where they claim that they wanted to make the game to be free to play but there are doubts on whether it would be viable.

According to the leak, the game is supposed to be free for a limited time in August of this year to see whether it will benefit the game or not and based on the outcome, they will decided on whether they would make it F2P.

It is said that they actually tried to make the same move back in 2019 but player response at that time seemed like a bad move for the game.

PUBG was released back in 2017 and it is available to play on PC, PS4, Xbox One, Google Stadia, as well as mobile devices. At the time of writing, the game is priced at RM74.99 on Steam. For more on the latest tech and gaming news plus reviews, stay tuned to Pokde.net.

Pokdepinion: I can’t really understand their logic of not having the game as a free title, seeing how PUBG Mobile is free anyways. Aside from that, its competitors such as Fortnite, COD Warzone, and Apex Legends are all free to play. With that said, I’m not really surprised that players have gone to other battle royale games.
