With the impending launch of Valorant Episode 6 Act 1, here’s when you can expect servers to go down and when you can enjoy the new update.
Valorant Episode 6 Act 1
Valorant Episode 6 Act 1 is set to be released soon, introducing a new Battle Pass for players to progress through. The current Act will come to an end in a few days, making way for new in-game content.
The new Episode and its Battle Pass will be available starting 10th January 2023, one day after the end of the current Act. Update 6.00, which includes the new Act’s content, will be deployed after Riot Games conducts the necessary backend maintenance.
Riot Games plans to release the latest updates for Valorant in the form of Episode 6 Act 1 at the beginning of next week, However, the availability of the update will vary by region, with deployment of Patch 6.00 happening at different times. Below are the expected deployment times for each region:
- Asia Pacific: Servers will be going down for maintenance on 10th January 2023 at 2PM PDT / 6AM Malaysia time in the next day (GMT+8).
- Brazil: Servers will be going down for maintenance on 10th January 2023 at 6AM PST.
- Europe: Servers will be going down for maintenance on 10th January 2023 at 8PM PST.
- Korea: Servers will be going down for maintenance on 10th January 2023 at 2PM PST.
- Latin America: Servers will be going down for maintenance on 10th January 2023 at 6AM PST.
- North America: Servers will be going down for maintenance on 10th January 2023 at 6AM PST.
As with their previous big patch releases, Riot will be conducting maintenance on the servers for approximately four hours before releasing Patch 6.00. This update will be relatively large as it will introduce two new maps to the game: a revamped Split and the new map, Lotus. The estimated size of the update is expected to be around 2GB or more.
As soon as players have downloaded the new patch, they will be able to purchase the latest Valorant Episode 6 Act 1 Battle Pass, which will also give them access to a separate Unrated queue for Lotus. As per tradition, the new Battle Pass will include three different weapon collections: 9 Lives, Gridcrash, and Venturi. These will feature skins for some of the most popular weapons in the game such as Vandal, Phantom, Judge, Stinger and Classic, with a melee weapon at the end.
The subscription will also feature new player cards that include elements of the game’s lore, as well as visually appealing artwork, and potential hidden Easter eggs. There will also be new gun buddies, titles, and sprays that show creative interactions between Valorant and its agents.
Valorant’s Battle Pass is divided into 50 tiers spanning across 10 chapters and five epilogue levels. At the end of each chapter and epilogue, players will receive free rewards. However, the majority of rewards are found in the 50 premium tiers. Players can purchase the premium version for 1,000 Valorant Points, which will give them an XP boost to help them progress through the pass more quickly.
Like many other games, Valorant’s Battle Pass is a cost-effective way for players to acquire new cosmetic items such as skins for most of the weapons and a melee option. It’s worth noting that the skins from the Battle Pass are not upgradeable and do not have animations.
Pokdepinion: Personally, not really a fan of the Battle Pass but I’m hoping they would change it to make it similar to something like Fortnite or Apex, where if someone plays enough, they would get enough in-game currency to buy the next season’s one. Otherwise, it’s really not worth getting it for every new season.
