Discord Integration for PS5 Expected to Launch By End of 2022
Discord Integration for PS5
As many of you may know by now, the partnership between Discord and PlayStation was formally announced in May 2021. However, we have still yet to see proper integration for the software in the PS5. Now, we have an idea of when that will be happening.
From what we know thus far, Discord integration will be coming to the PS5 in firmware update 7.00. Since update 6.00 is coming mid-September 2022, this would mean that it will be arriving in the coming months, likely before the end of 2022. When it arrives, you would be able to use the app straight from the console instead of relying on PC or mobile for it.
At the moment, Discord integration for the PS5 is undergoing QA testing, and the progress is described as “very well”. Hopefully, this is a sign that development is going well and it should work perfectly fine when it finally arrives. For now, stay tuned for further updates as no specific release date for it has been announced yet.
Pokdepinion: This will certainly make gaming, especially the cross-play compatible ones, a lot more convenient. Kind of thought this would have arrived earlier if I’m being completely honest but better late than never.
