One of the most popular games on the PlayStation 4 is the reboot of the God of War series. It’s fun, and the visuals are certainly breathtaking. Soon, we’ll get to enjoy it in an even better fashion as Sony Santa Monica announced that there will be a 4K 60FPS enhanced patch for the game on the PS5.

This enhanced patch will be available for free, and it will replace “the current video graphics mode option with a new default setting that will offer the best of both performance and resolution” on the next gen console. The update will also be made available for the PS Plus Collection version as well.

The official blog post by the studio confirms that you can play the game in 4K Checkerboard Resolution at a buttery smooth 60 frames per second frame rate. The option to play it exactly as it did on the PS4 is still available, in case anyone prefers that instead.

This move is most likely done to satisfy fans who are anxiously looking forward to the sequel, God of War: Ragnarok, which is expected to launch sometime later this year.

Pokdepinion: Didn’t really have a solid reason to revisit the game before, and now I do.
