Horizon Zero Dawn PS5 Patch Adds 60FPS Gameplay and More
While we’re anticipating the arrival of Horizon Forbidden West, Guerilla Games did not forget about its predecessor. A new Horizon Zero Dawn PS5 patch out and here’s everything that you need to know about it.
Horizon Zero Dawn PS5 Patch
Guerilla Games has published a new update for Horizon Zero Dawn that will let the game play better on the PlayStation 5. The most notable change is the unlocked framerate that allows the game to be played at a buttery smooth 60FPS. The Graphics Mode option is also removed.
- Unlocked framerate to 60 frames per second when running on a PlayStation 5 console in backwards compatibility mode.
- Fixed streaming performance issues when running on a PlayStation 5 console in backwards compatibility mode.
- Removed Graphics Mode option from the Visual Settings when running on a PlayStation 5 console in backwards compatibility mode.
Previously, Sony Interactive Entertainment gave out Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition for free for all PS4 owners. This was done as part of their Play At Home initiative due to the current circumstances brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic. This includes the Frozen Wilds DLC expansion and you would be able to make use of the update if you’re going to play it on the PS5.
Horizon Zero Dawn is available on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 (backwards compatibility), and PC. In case you missed it, Horizon Forbidden West will be coming exclusively to the PlayStation 5 on 18th February 2022.
Pokdepinion: This would be a good way to get an idea of how a next gen Horizon game would play out, especially given the smooth 60FPS gameplay.
