On the latest issue of Weekly Famitsu magazine, there was an interview with Sony Interactive Entertainment CEO Jim Ryan. In the interview, the next-gen PS5 console was briefly focused on.

Jim Ryan mentioned that haptic technology in the new PS5 controller is great and a really exciting feature. He also added that he looks forward to see how developers will take advantage of the new feature in their games. Here’s his personal thoughts on the controller:

I actually tried it myself in a test version of Gran Turismo Sport. I was very surprised by the gameplay feel that was very different compared to the current DualShock 4. This is a very promising feature. Of course, with the improvement of the graphics over PS4, I think you will feel a great evolution as a gaming experience.

Jim Ryan, Sony Interactive Entertainment CEO

Aside from that, the graphical capabilities is also said to be part of elevating the gaming experience. While we have learned a fair amount on the next-gen PS5 console, there are still a number of key details that are missing. For instance, we don’t know exactly what’s new in the DualShock 5. At the same time, we have no word yet on an official unveiling of the console, but we’ll report on that as soon as information becomes available.

The PlayStation 5 is expected to launch sometime in Holiday 2020.

Pokdepinion: While haptic feedback seems like a simple feature, it can give a completely different experience depending on the game. That is something I’m looking forward to in the next generation of gaming.
