Apple makes another courageous move — now you have to pay to use your 3.5mm headphones!
If you thought Apple removing the 3.5mm headphone jack from the iPhone 7 was courageous, you will love this. They are apparently going to remove the Lightning to 3.5mm adapter from the packaging.
This rumor is supported by a statement by a research note by Barclays. Cirrus Logic has reportedly “confirmed” that the next iPhone will not come with a dongle. The dongle currently costs RM46 on Apple’s Malaysia store.
Apple has been targeting a truly wireless ecosystem for the iDevices. Then again, the AirPods are far from affordable. What do you think? Are manufacturers silly for removing the 3.5mm jack, or do you think that there is a real practical reason behind all that courage?
