Apple TV Plus Set to Arrive and Rival Netflix

During the Apple Keynote held at the Steve Jobs Theater in California, Apple has also announced their own video streaming service that will certainly pose a huge threat to the likes of Netflix. It will be known as Apple TV Plus, stylized as “Apple TV+”.

Apple TV Plus is said to offer exclusive shows, movies, and documentaries from a wide variety of famous filmmakers. Some of the notable names mentioned were Steven Spielberg, M. Night Shyamalan, and JJ Abrams. There will be a variety of content on this platform that will cater to various demographics. Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, and Steve Carell went on stage to talk about a new original show called The Morning Show, while Big Bird from Sesame Street talked about a new kids show called Helpsters.

Apple is looking to spend approximately USD $2 billion this year to create original content for the Apple TV Plus. It hopes to be able to compete against the likes of Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, and many others. The service is said to be ad-free, available on demand, and viewable in both online and offline.

It is expected to be made available in over 100 countries at launch, and it will be coming this Fall 2019. At the moment, there are no pricings available for it yet but we expect to hear that, as well as the exact release date, in the near future.

Pokdepinion: My gut feeling is telling me that it’s going to be expensive. I don’t mind paying, I just hope that it will be worth the payment.
