ASUS Malaysia Launches ROG STRIX GL12CX – Gaming Desktop PC for the Elite
ASUS Malaysia Launches ROG STRIX GL12CX
Aside from the new Zephyrus S GX701 gaming laptop, the folks over at ASUS Malaysia also launched a premium gaming desktop aimed at the most hardcore of gamers out there looking for the best PC gaming experience possible. It’s known as the ROG STRIX GL12CX gaming desktop.
The ROG STRIX GL12CX gaming desktop is powered by the Intel Core i9-9900K and up to NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080. The CPU itself is fully unlocked so overclocking enthusiasts will be able to fully take advantage of the hardware and fine-tune it to their liking. Even novice PC gamers can easily overclock using the ROG Armoury Crate software. To ensure a smooth and problem-free gaming experience, the temperature is being kept down thanks to a custom Cooler Master CPU liquid cooler and an extra 90mm fan at the back.
For the aesthetic value, the ROG STRIX GL12CX gaming desktop has sharp angles on the front and top of the case reminiscent of gashes on an armour from a katana. There’s also plenty of RGB lighting to go around which spills out of the intake and exhaust vents. Users can freely customize it using the Armoury Crate software, and easily match it with your other ROG gaming peripherals with Aura Sync. The effects can also be synced with in-game events and environments.
Interestingly, the ROG STRIX GL12CX gaming desktop has a hot-swappable SSD bay, which is apparently designed for Esports gaming, hidden behind the case’s magnetic front cover. This allows for quick swapping of profiles and games without needing to shut down the system to install a drive. This also means that upgrades will be easier for everyone. The Z390 motherboard utilizes for the desktop has the ASUS DIMM.2 modulem which uses a memory-style slot to provide two M.2 connections for SSD, and also features integrated heatsinks.
The ROG STRIX GL12CX gaming desktop will also have a 2-in-1 card reader, two USB 3.1 ports, and two USB 2.0 ports on the front. On the back, there will be six USB ports, five audio jacks, and a digital S/PDIF port. For wireless, it has an 802.11ac Wave 2 Wi-Fi card and also Bluetooth 5.0 support. Interestingly, this desktop will also come with an optical disk drive.
