ASUS ROG fans who prefer compact yet powerful rigs will surely be excited as the ASUS Maximus VIII Impact mini-ITX motherboard has made an appearance on the interwebs and it looks stunning. The ASUS Maximus VIII Impact is built for the latest Intel 6th Generation Skylake processor that’s using Intel’s 14nm manufacturing process and supports DDR4 RAM modules.

For the SFF builders out there, I bet that ASUS Maximus VIII Impact is a perfect solution for a high-end SFF gaming PC. The ASUS Maximus VIII Impact is based on Intel’s Z170 chipset which supports the latest Intel 6th Generation Skylake processors and will features two DDR4 DIMM slots. As it is a mini-ITX board it only comes with one PCI-e 3.0 x16 slot.

Moving on to the ROG-specific features on the ASUS Maximus VIII Impact, we see from the picture the ASUS Maximus VIII Impact will adopt the daughter power delivery board like its predecessor. It comes with four SATA 6Gbps port, enhanced audio with integrated SupremeFX Impact III and dual-antenna WiFi GO! which I suppose is a wireless AC module.

For input and output the ASUS Maximus VIII Impact actually provides a pretty decent number of five USB 3.0 port. We also found three fan header on the board, as well as a debug LED, on-board power, reset and clear CMOS buttons located on the rear on the motherboard for easy access.

We are not sure when this motherboard will be available here but our source suggests that it will launch sometime in September/October so hopefully we will see an official announcement soon.

Pokdepinion : Mini-ITX builds are PC systems with a small footprint. With the ASUS Maximus VIII Impact, you can still build a great gaming rig even in the small form factor, although you won’t be able to use multiple GPUs with it. But as we know even with a single graphics card, most games should run very well even up to 4K resolution.
