Celcom Will Be Widening Their Broadband Network Coverage in 2019

Recently, MCMC released an official statement regarding the situation with Streamyx and ADSL network users, which you can read about right here. In that same statement, it was mentioned that Celcom will be looking to widen the coverage of their broadband network in 2019 in order to make it more accessible.

Currently, the Celcom home broadband internet plans are only available in Sabah, but this may not be the case anymore next year. With plenty of areas still lacking coverage for fast broadband internet, Celcom could easily swoop in and offer their services there.

The picture at the top of this post shows the two home broadband internet plans being offered by them in Sabah. The packages do seem very appealing due its affordability and relatively fast speeds. I mean, 40Mbps speed with unlimited quota for just RM80, that certainly sounds like a good deal.

We have no word on where they will be expanding next, only that it will be happening in 2019. At the same time, TM and Maxis will be looking to upgrade their users to fibre connection in stages within the same time period. For now, it seems like we are about to see things pick up rather quickly, compared to the past at least, on the evolution of internet in Malaysia.

Pokdepinion: Looking at the price for those plans, I wished Celcom was offering these in Klang Valley already. Well, let’s see how this will turn out in 2019.
