Digi Introduces New Android Feature To Manage Your Mobile Data Usage
Digi has revealed that they are one of the first telco service providers in the world to launch a new Android feature that helps customers to manage their mobile data usage.
The new feature is a result of a collaboration between Google as well as Telenor Group, of which Digi is a part of. It will be made available through the new Mobile Data Plan functionality in Android.
Digi users who have Android 4.0 or higher will be able to manage their data plans and receive alerts on their data plans. Additionally, they can even see and purchase relevant data offers directly from their Android settings without even the need to install any apps.
Currently Digi is carrying out a pilot phase with some of their Android base users and will gradually rollout this feature to all of their customers in phases.
Back in 206, Telenor and Google had collaborated on a Mobile Data Plan API, which alerted Telenor customers in Thailand and Malaysia when they are reaching towards the end of their data quota while watching content in the Youtube app.
Pokdepinion: I guess it will create more awareness for their users on data consumption, which is a good thing. It seems like something essential for those who subscribe to lower amounts of internet quota.
