HP Unveils Brand New Spectre x360; Kaby Lake, Thinner, Lighter, and a Near-Borderless Display
The great laptop for travels have gotten even better; the all-new HP Spectre x360.
In the past, we’ve seen people wanting to get a laptop with the best possible punch packed in it and they were willing to sacrifice the mobility of a laptop for it. You’ve seen them before, laptops with a size and design that will instantly send you to the hospital for facial reconstruction surgery with just a single whack.
Nowadays, the trend has started to shift towards lighter laptops with a long battery life. Not to say that they don’t care about performance but rather, having that extra mobility seems to be priority now. If you’re one of these people as opposed to the former, you might want to check this out.
The All-New HP Spectre x360
The folks over at HP has unveiled a new iteration of their ever-popular Spectre x360 laptop. This 2nd generation HP Spectre x360 is 13% thinner and 11% lighter compared to its predecessor. But what makes it look really appealing is its near-borderless display, at 13.3-inches, which was made possible thanks to its new micro-edge display bezel design.
According to HP, the micro-edge display bezel design essentially eliminates 10mm on every side, which gives it the near-borderless Full HD IPS display. The all-new HP Spectre x360 also has an improved battery life, with a battery life of up to 15 hours which is a 25% improvement over its predecessor. How’s that possible? Simple, they upsized the battery capacity to 57.8W.
HP attributed their success in making the Spectre x360 up to 2mm thinner with a new hinge design, which measures the device at 13.8mm thin. It weighs in at 1.295kg, a decrease from the previous generation’s 1.45kg.
The new HP Spectre x360 has 4 speakers, tuned with the help of Bang & Olufsen as well as HP Audio Boost. There will be 2 front facing speaking with the remaining 2 speakers situated on the bottom, which is said to provide a great audio experience.
The new Spectre x360 also features great connectivity with two USB-Type C ports with Thunderbolt 3 support as well as a USB-Type A 3.0 port. This enables users to connect the latest peripherals both today and tomorrow.
Other features of the new HP Spectre x360 include:
- The new dual fan design optimizes thermals to ensure the device runs cool during demanding activities
- 7th Generation Intel® Core™ i5 or i7 processors
- Options with up to a 256GB PCIe SSD for fast performance and plenty of space to store high resolution videos and photos
- HP TrueVision FHD Webcam with 12% wider field of view, great for web chats.
- A FHD IR camera supports Windows Hello Facial Log-In for secure, easy log in without typing a password.
- HP Fast Charge to recharge the batteries to 90 percent capacity in just 90 minutes

Pokdepinion: It looks like a promising laptop for those who are always on the go. Unless you want to lug around a titan-sized laptop, this seems like a good option but we can’t say for sure until we’ve actually reviewed it ourselves. It does look attractive though.
