HP Unveils New POS System - Introducing The HP ElitePOS 25With today’s world slowly edging towards e-commerce, brick and mortar retailers must ensure sales associates are data driven to better understand buying behavior and giving customers the best experience. Based on a study by InReality, 69% of shoppers admit that they would be more likely to buy in-store if given access to digital self-help tools like interactive displays and kiosks.

This is where the HP ElitePOS comes in, supporting use cases beyond checkout to make shopping faster and easier for customers and the sales associates assisting them. These cases include; interactive signage, employee attendance, and self-service applications like a customer check-in and access to additional product offerings.

The display can be separated from the input/output base for maximum placement versatility. Talking about versatility, its accessories also add further customization, which consists of an optional receipt printer, optional magnetic stripe reader, optional barcode scanner and an optional standalone printer.

HP’s ElitePOS is built to be durable, designed to pass MIL-STD tests, deter minor spills by channeling liquid out of the device and provide cooling with side venting. It runs on Windows 10, has a DDR4 memory and a 7th generation Intel Core processor with vPro.

With POS devices increasingly targeted by hackers, security remains top priority. That is why HP is expanding its security solutions to the ElitePOS, with both hardware and integrated software security features such as BIOS-level device security, user authentication technology, and physical security of the device itself.

The ElitePOS is expected to be made available in November 2017 direct from HP and the company’s network of partners. For more information on the the ElitePOS, you can do so by clicking here.

Pokdepinion: Appearance wise, it looks sleek and by the looks of it, should be more secured compared to older POS’ out there.
