We have discussed the feature phones, now onto Nokia’s smartphones announced at IFA 2019. We have the Nokia 6.2 and Nokia 7.2. Both devices are pretty similar, but ever so different. The Nokia 6.2 comes powered by a Snapdragon 636 while the Nokia 7.2 packs a Snapdragon 660. As you might expect, both devices run Android One and are slated to receive Android 10 pretty soon.

The main difference between the Nokia 6.2 and Nokia 7.2 are the cameras. Both devices feature triple camera setups, but the Nokia 7.2 hits the ball out of the park with a 48MP f/1.79 ZEISS camera. The Nokia 6.2 settles for a 16MP f/1.8 primary shooter. Both will feature a 8MP f/2.2 ultra-wide angle camera and a 5MP depth sensor. On the software front, the beefier of the two also comes with ZEISS bokeh styles, recreating the ZEISS lenses’ signature blur with ZEISS Modern, ZEISS Swirl and ZEISS Smooth.

Aside from the camera, both devices are pretty similar, with 6.3″ PureDisplay panels with 500 nits brightness and HDR upscaling. Both the Nokia 7.2 and Nokia 6.2 also feature a design inspired by Nokia’s “Oreo” camera hump, and sport a polymer composite frame sandwiched between two Gorilla Glass 3 panels on the front and back of the devices. The Nokia 7.2 gets a more exclusive matte finishing, while the Nokia 6.2 settles for a glossy finish.

What do you think of the new Nokia smartphones? Yay or nay?

Pokdepinion: I am somewhat irked by the fact that Nokia are still using these old chipsets in a late 2019 smartphone…

You should probably disregard the price because EU pricing is usually higher than local pricing by a fair bit… We only convert the figures for reference.
