IFA 2020 Will Take Place This Year As An Invite-Only Event
Tech conventions… okay screw that. Almost everything got hit by the Covid-19 pandemic around the world. But now it appears that IFA 2020 will still take place this year.
Scheduled to be held on from the 3rd to 5th of September, it’ll be the first major tech conference ever since the outbreak occurred.
Regarding the decision to host the event, here’s what they had to say:
After all the event cancellations during the past months, our industry urgently needs a platform where it can showcase its innovation, so that it can recover and rebound.Jens Heithecker, Executive Director of IFA Berlin
The city of Berlin has banned any events from gathering more than 5000 participants in the city until at least the 24th of October 2020. To cope with that, it seems that IFA 2020 will be an invite-only event and will be closed to the public.
They’ve said to be working with the public health authorities in the country to ensure that social distancing, hygiene, and the likes to be taken care of.
