Intel demonstrated new prototype “Star Brook”
IDF 2015 located at Shenzhen, China, Intel has demostrated their new prototype notebook running with latest Intel Skylake processor, the notebook called Star Brook, introducing new technologies and features for the future.
So what the deal with this Star Brook? It is using latest Intel Skylake processor, it does not required any power supply interface, but how is this happening? Thanks to the USB 3.1 type C interface, the new standard supports up 100 watt as power source, and an average notebook only use about 65 watt.
Other than that, the Star Brook is only 20mm thin and weighs less than 1KG, It’s running Windows 10 preview with 2560×1440 resolution on a 12.5 inches diplay. Other than this information, the other specifications are not revealed yet.
Now that we have glimpse on a new notebook lineup, we hope skylake offers an upgrade in terms of performance, battery life and cooler operating temperature. This could really be great for consumers (if it come with good pricing, of course).
