We have just heard rumors that ASUS Malaysia will be bringing in the a device with an 18:9 screen. This comes as no surprise as the ASUS X018DC has been spotted on TENAA more than a month back. The device will feature an 18:9 display and a huge battery. Leading us to dub it the ASUS ZenFone Max Pro v2. It will most probably be called the ASUS ZenFone 4 Max Plus M1 (ZB570TL) here.

It is known in China as the Pegasus 4S, but ASUS Malaysia has never brought in a device with the name “Pegasus” so we know that will not be the name here in Malaysia.. Specs wise, it will be placed firmly in the entry-level with a MediaTek MT6750T processor, 4GB RAM, and a choice of 32GB or 64GB storage. The device runs Android 7.0 Nougat with ZenUI 4.1, but Oreo has been promised for the entire ZenFone 4 and ZenFone 3 series so do not get worried about the OS.

The 5.7″ 18:9 display features a modest 1440 x 720 resolution while the 4130 mAh battery is a slight downgrade from the currently available ZenFone 4 Max Pro with its 5000 mAh battery. There will be a dual 16MP standard + 8MP wide angle camera which should offer better photography prowess than the ASUS ZenFone 4 Max Pro’s 16MP+5MP configuration.

Our sources point to the ASUS ZenFone 4 Max Plus M1 (ZB570TL) being a wallet-friendly offering from ASUS Malaysia. We will definitely update this post when we get more juicy details!

Pokdepinion: Can’t wait to see the ASUS ZenFone Max Plus M1 (that’s a really long name) and it’s 18:9 display here! If only the specifications could be just that bit beefier..
