Mi MIX 3 to come with pop-up camera too? Xiaomi is taking a step towards a true bezel-less device too!
The Mi MIX series goal was to push the limits of design and engineering, which led to the use of exotic materials like ceramic in the construction of the devices. The Mi MIX 3 is going to push the limits of engineering once again, with a bezel-less design, losing the chin which housed the front facing camera.
Xiaomi’s Mi MIX 2S seems more like an iterative upgrade, coming with an improved camera setup and chipset inside, but most of the design was just carried over from the Mi MIX 2. To mark a real generational leap, the Mi MIX 3 will hide the selfie camera, placing it on a motorized mechanism ala Vivo NEX. Xiaomi isn’t going down the route of the first Mi MIX though, settling for a narrow slit housing the earpiece.
A teaser which appeared on Weibo reveals the silhouette of what may be the Mi MIX 3, aside from what could be the launch date as well. It is speculated to arrive in September. Are you excited about the Mi MIX 3? This year might just be the year of the hidden cameras.
