What’s with all this fuss about foldable screens? If you want a bigger screen, all you need is the Neffos P1, as it comes with a projector. You can resize the screen all you want then.

The Neffos P1 we are looking at is currently still a prototype. It wasn’t launched with the other more conventional Neffos devices introduced on 26th July. While the other devices were much more conventional, the Neffos P1 was truly a head-turner when it was teased at the event.

It is equipped with an ultra-short throw lens, so you can get a 20″ display when you are just half a meter away from the surface. It can easily go up to 200″ too when you are 5.1 meters away from the surface. While you would expect such a projector to drain the battery rather quickly, the Neffos P1 is actually rated for four hours of continuous streaming.

Aside from the fancy projector, the design is also rather upmarket compared to its brethren. The gold chamfered edges look exquisite, a clear step up from the other devices introduced that day. The thickness belie a massive battery within to power the projector.

Neffos declined to confirm on the chipset or battery capacity, but we were informed that there will be 4GB RAM and 64GB of storage. Since it is not a final production unit yet, no pricing was revealed either.

Would you get a smartphone with a built-in projector?

Pokdepinion: Putting a projector into a smartphone isn’t a novel idea anymore, but it is always interesting to think how much more can we enjoy content on a bigger screen.
