Google Assistant coming to Nexus 6P and 5X soon

Nexus 6P and 5X owners were decidedly unhappy after Google decided to end the Nexus program, and start anew with the Pixel lineup. Adding salt to the wound was the fact that Google Assistant was exclusive to the Pixel and Pixel XL devices, with even Google’s own Nexus smartphones left out of the picture. But there is some hope still.

Google might even bring the nifty voice assistant to more of their own devices, like the upcoming Android Wear 2.0 smartwatches that will be designed by Google themselves. The LG G6 is rumored to feature it as well. If LG’s relationship with Google is to be considered, this bit of news seems quite likely they seem to be the closest to Google as they have worked together in the past for the Nexus 4, 5 and 5X.

Google has yet to offer any good news to users of devices made by their many OEMs, which means that Google Assistant will most probably still be pretty exclusive. Meanwhile, Samsung is rumored to bring their own voice assistant for the Galaxy S8, Hopefully it will be a lot better than S Voice.

Pokdepinion: Google keeping Android Assistant exclusive to themselves is a good thing, to help differentiate their devices from the myriad of Android-based smartphones in the market.
