Square Enix made an announcement that Yoko Taro’s recently released action-RPG NierR: Automata passed a new sales milestone. The game is now comfortably sitting on two million copies shipped adding up retail shipments and digital downloads worldwide on all available platforms.
To celebrate this achievement, the publisher released an awesome piece of artwork that you can enjoy just below here.
NieR: Automata is the fruit of the dream collaboration between Square Enix as a publisher (represented by Producer Yosuke Saito), Yoko Taro as Director, Akihiko Yoshida handling the character design, and PlatinumGames (nothing to do with Platinum Eden cough) taking care of development, spearheaded by Takahisa Taura.
NieR: Automata Synopsis Provided by Steam:
NieR: Automata tells the story of androids 2B, 9S, and A2 and their battle to reclaim the machine-driven dystopia overrun by powerful machines.
Humanity has been driven from the Earth by mechanical beings from another world. In a final effort to take back the planet, the human resistance sends a force of android soldiers to destroy the invaders. Now, a war between machines and androids rages on… A war that could soon unveil a long-forgotten truth of the world.
The previous sales milestone was achieved at the end of May, with 1.5 million copies, but apparently the title is still selling steadily. Recently, there was a crossover special with the characters from the game showing up at the mobile game, Final Fantasy: Brave Exvius. It was a temporary special event where you can get characters like 2B to join your party permanently.
The game is currently available for the PlayStation 4 and PC via steam.
Pokdepinion: It was a great game and it had many fans. Can’t say this number is surprising. Hopefully, the record will still continue to grow.
