HMD Global, the home of Nokia smartphones, has recently unveiled their brand new Nokia 7.1, which is set to enter the mid-range smartphone market.

Featuring a 5.84-inch display that comes with a PureDisplay with 1080×2280 pixel resolution. It is protected by Gorilla Glass 3 and offers HDR10 support. With that, its display can do real-time HDR conversion to standard resolution videos, which is quite neat.

As for the phone’s specifications, it packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 and comes with either 3GB or 4GB RAM and that is partnered with 32GB or 64GB of internal storage respectively. Of course, like most smartphones in today’s market, you can opt to add more storage through a microSD card.

For cameras, it sports a dual 12MP+5MP shooter at the back as well as a 8MP selfie shooter that comes with AI capabilities. The phone’s main camera boast ZEISS optics and also comes with Nokia’s famed “bothie” mode that allows you to take photos or videos using both the front and back cameras at the same time, making it possible for you to capture moments from both sides.

Under the hood, it packs a 3060mAh battery and the phone supports fast charging with its Type-C port. The company has even claimed that you can 50% juice out of a 30 minutes charge, which is quite fast.

Being a part of the Android One program, it runs on Android 8.1 Oreo. Don’t worry as the phone is scheduled for an Android 9.0 Pie upgrade in November.

Coming in with two colors; Gloss Midnight Blue and Gloss Steel, the Nokia 7.1 is expected to come out on October 28 with prices beginning at €319 (around RM1,523) for the 3GB/32GB variant and €349 (roughly RM1,666) for the 4GB/64GB version.
