Qualcomm debuts Qualcomm Clear Sight technology for dual camera setup smartphones
Qualcomm has just come up with their own solution for dual camera setups with their latest Qualcomm Clear Sight technology. It is powered by the Qualcomm Spectra ISP (Image Signal Processor) which is engineered to give your photos improved dynamic range, sharpness and less noise in low light.

Qualcomm Clear Sight features two cameras, each with its own lens and image sensor. Like human eyes, the lenses have identical focal length (meaning they see the same distance). But each camera has a different image sensor: one colour image sensor (to mimic cones), and a separate black and white image sensor (which can absorb more light, to mimic rods).
Black and white photos too, will have much better contrast, and in low light it will have less noise and improved sharpness. Qualcomm Clear Sight technology is supported by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 and 821 processors. Engineered inside the processor, the ISP merges and quickly processes data simultaneously from both cameras to create a high quality photograph, even in very low lighting, by using algorithms to blend the images captured from each of the two cameras intelligently.

Pokdepinion: I would like to see this technology trickle down into Qualcomm’s future mid-range processors, so we can enjoy using dual-camera systems in sub RM1000 smartphones.
