Razer Launches Razer Pay in Malaysia – FREE RM10 Credit When You Register
Razer, with support from Berjaya Corporation Berhad, launched the Razer Pay e-Wallet in Malaysia. New users will get some nifty bonus credits for use.
Razer Launches Razer Pay in Malaysia
At a launch event in Kuala Lumpur just a few hours ago, Razer has officially launched the Razer Pay e-wallet here in Malaysia. In partnership with Berjaya Corporation Berhad, Razer Pay is an e-wallet for youths and millennials with convenience in mind.
There are 4 factors that help make it a convenient payment solution:
- Top Up Easily
- Transfer Quickly
- Pay Everywhere: Online
- Pay Everywhere: Offline
To add funds to a Razer Pay account, users can visit any 7-Eleven store in Malaysia at any time to buy a Razer Pay top-up PIN. Alternatively, users can also use their online banking account to add funds. Participating banks include AmBank, Bank Islam, CIMB, Hong Leong Bank, Maybank, Public Bank and RHB Bank.
Users can easily transfer funds to family and friends via peer-to-peer cash transfers just by simply selecting who to transfer it to and keying in the amount. Of course, there will be a confirmation prompt for you to confirm whether you truly meant to send it, along with the right amount.
The e-wallet can be used for online transactions. For example, users who love games and video entertainment can purchase PIN codes instantly for popular services such as:
- zGold MOLPoints
- Steam Wallet
- Garena
- PlayStation Network / PS Store
- Spotify
- iflix
- Astro NJO
Users can also use it to top up their mobile prepaid numbers, with names like U Mobile, Digi, Maxis, and Celcom being mentioned as applicable for.
Over 6,000 major retail and F&B outlets will accept Razer Pay, and the number is expected to grow even bigger as time goes by. Participating outlets that have been mentioned, but not limited to, are:
- 7-Eleven
- Starbucks
- Singer
- Cosway
- Greyhound Café
- Wendy’s
- Kenny Rogers
- Krispy Kreme
- 99Speedmart
- Tealive
- Sweet Hut
As an added bonus, Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Vincent Tan himself announced that Berjaya Corporation Berhad will be donating RM10 to the Tabung Harapan Malaysia fund for every transaction made using the newly launched e-wallet, limited up to RM5 million in donations.
But wait, there’s more. Min-Liang Tan also pointed out that every new user in Malaysia will receive RM10 bonus credits when they sign up in the Razer Pay app. However, this will only be applicable for new registrations that occur from 4th July 2018 to 30th September 2018.
The Razer Pay app is currently available on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
Interestingly, Min-Liang Tan also teased the possibility of their flagship gaming smartphone coming to Malaysia soon. No word yet on when exactly, but it seems that it is a question of when rather than if.
Pokdepinion: I love how they went straight to the point during the event and clearly demonstrated how it works. No beating around the bush, just telling us what’s up. Good job, Razer and Berjaya Corporation Berhad.
