Redmi 6 Pro is Xiaomi’s first notched mid-ranger — king of the budget smartphones?
Xiaomi’s next mid-range smartphone is the Redmi 6 Pro, and it is a definitely upgrade over the Redmi 5 family. While it still features specifications below that of the Redmi Note 5, users who desire a more modern design may opt for the newer device.
The Redmi 6 Pro packs a 12MP + 5MP rear camera system, aided by AI technology to improve on the color, HDR and portrait capabilities. In the notch at the top of the 5.84″ 19:9 FHD+ display is a 5MP camera to handle selfies. The resolution does seem a little low, but we would reserve our judgement about its performance until we actually try it.
Performance will be courtesy of the proven 2.0 GHz octa-core Snapdragon 625 chipset, mated to up to 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. A large 4000 mAh battery keeps the lights in the Redmi 6 Pro. Yet another feature that will interest heavier users is the dedicated dual nanoSIM slots, allowing you to use two SIM cards and a microSD simultaneously.
Pricing of the Redmi 6 Pro starts from 999 yuan (~RM614.58) for the variant with 3GB RAM and 32GB of storage. It comes in a multitude of colors, including red, rose gold, gold, blue and black.
