ROG Strix GL12CX announced — get the latest gaming hardware in a sexy Aura Sync-capable chassis!

There are people who love to build their own rigs, and there are those who aren’t interested in the hassle to build a rig themselves. The newly announced ROG Strix GL12CX probably targets the latter demographic, cramming all the latest gaming hardware into a chassis that features Aura Sync lighting inside out.

The ROG Strix GL12CX is offered in configurations with the latest Core i9 9900K and GeForce RTX 2080 Ti, to support the latest AAA titles. If you really want to go all out, you can also pair it with the ROG Swift PG27UQ which the GeForce RTX 2080 Ti will have no problem handling.

Of course, being a member of the ROG family means that the Core i9 9900K won’t go to waste. ASUS offers factory overclocking for a sustained 4.9 GHz on all cores, enabled by the impressive custom liquid cooling setup from Cooler Master. For configurations with the Core i9 9700K, ASUS has clocked the processor to an even higher 5.0 GHz out of the factory.

The ROG Strix GL12CX’s sharp aesthetics are enhanced by the Aura Sync lighting which works with ASUS’ Aura Sync ecosystem consisting of peripherals and even monitors. With official support for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, the ROG Strix GL12CX will shine with its impressive lighting.

It is upgradeable like any desktop, with an innovative ASUS DIMM.2 slot which supports two M.2 PCIe connections for fast storage. The DIMM.2 slots feature heatsinks too, to allow you to extract maximum performance from your PCIe storage. Of course, they can also be used with Intel Optane memory to accelerate HDD storage.

The ROG Strix GL12CX also comes with your standard array of ports. There are a total of six USB ports, five audio jacks and a 802.11ac Wave 2 WiFi and Bluetooth 5.0. That’s just the back. Over at the front you will find a hot-swap SSD bay, 2-in-1 card reader, two USB 3.0 ports and two USB 2.0 ports.

Availability is expected to start sometime in December, but you can pre-order your ROG Strix GL12CX at selected ROG stores now. Pricing depends on the configuration you pick.

Pokdepinion: The ROG Strix GL12CX is an impressive rig, with integrated Aura Sync lighting. However I find it hard to justify paying premiums for pre-built rigs. But then again, I am using a 4-year old PC. Who am I to judge?
