ROG Zephyrus S (GX531) announced — offers all the performance of the Zepyhrus in a smaller footprint and slimmer profile!
If you felt that the original ROG Zephyrus was cool, wait till you check out the new ROG Zephyrus S (GX531). This new baby from ROG marks a new milestone for ultrathin gaming laptops.
It’s now thinner, at just 15.75mm at its thickest, a whole 12% slimmer than the original ROG Zephyrus (GX501). The new laptop also comes with super-narrow bezels to cram a 15.6″ display into a 14.2″ chassis. The display holds nothing back though, with a 144 Hz refresh rate and 3ms response time.
The innovative Active Aerodynamic System (AAS), a hallmark of the Zephyrus series, also returns to cool the Intel Core i7 8750H and GeForce GTX 1070 Max-Q within. Despite being thinner now, it still offers 22% better airflow than traditional designs. Dual 12V AeroAccelerator fans also have 17% more blades than the original Zephyrus did, coming in at 83 blades per fan for better airflow.
Heat is expelled through four heatsinks, twice as many as what the first Zephyrus featured. With five heatpipes drawing heat away from the CPU, GPU and power delivery system, the Zephyrus S stands to be a real beast despite the thinner and smaller dimensions. Coupled with Overboost, Balanced and Silent fan profiles, you can select the right fan profile for your needs.
The ROG Zephyrus S will be showcased at Gamescom, while we will also be getting an exclusive look at it tomorrow. Stay tuned for our hands on session with the ROG Zephyrus S!

Pokdepinion: Seems like a sweet laptop! The touchpad’s location might displease some people though, but who uses a touchpad on a gaming laptop?
