It would seem that the selfie-centric OPPO A57 is indeed coming to Malaysia.

We are currently living in the selfie generation whether we like it or not. From all over the world, we see a bunch of friends, family members, celebrities, and even strangers post their selfies on social media.

OPPO is clearly gearing further towards the selfie crowd with the addition of the OPPO A57, which is soon to hit store shelves in Malaysia.

OPPO Malaysia has officially announced that the selfie-centric OPPO A57 is confirmed to be coming to Malaysia some time this month. This new device is said to be able to help users have an easier time to take good selfies, thanks to the upgraded signature palm shutter function.

Users will only need to open their in front of the screen to take the shot, leaving users free to get a stable and well-composed shot. It is said to also have a new ‘bokeh’ effect for selfies, where the background is blurry to bring the focus towards the subject.

Another highlight mentioned by OPPO is that the A57 packs a 2,900mAH battery, which according to them is capable of 11 hours continuous video watching, 23 hours of phone usage, and 13.5 hours of varying use. Of course, we at Pokde will have to give this a test to see whether these claims are true or not.

Aside from all of that, the OPPO A57 is powered by a Snapdragon 435 chipset with 1.4GHz octa-core cortex A53, Adreno 505 GPU, 32GBs of internal memory, and 3GBs of RAM. If the internal storage is not enough, there is still a microSD slot (which is the secondary sim card slot) that can support up to 256GBs.

The OPPO A57 will be available in both Gold and Rose Gold colour options. We will have more details on this new device soon enough. Until then, stick around if you’re interesting in owning one for yourself.

Pokdepinion: Now this new phone isn’t what anyone would call groundbreaking. It would seem that OPPO wants to offer an affordable device that can take good selfies with this. The Snapdragon 435 chipset is quite energy-efficient, and isn’t painfully slow so it wouldn’t be an issue for budget smartphone users. Gotta wait to see how much it will actually cost when it reaches Malaysia first though.
