[CES2018] Sony Announces 46th E-mount Lens – Featuring A 18-135mm Focal Length, F3.5-F5.6 Aperture And Optical Steadyshot!
Today Sony has announce of their 46th E-mount lens. The new APS-C lens features a 18-135mm focal length, aperture range of F3.5-F5.6 and Optical SteadyShot stabilization.
The new lens (model SEL18135) from Sony features a compact, lightweight design which measures at 67.2mm x 88mm and weighs in at 325g. It offers 7.5x optical zoom that covers the wide-ranging focal length of 18-135mm, on APS-C or 27-202.5mm in 35mm equivalent focal length.
It is an ideal fit for Sony’s APS-C sensor cameras that includes the a6500, a6300 and a6000, and is a useful tool for a wide range of shooting situation such as portraiture, landscape, nature, and travel photography.
The SEL18135 can produce corner-to-corner sharpness throughout the entire zoom range thanks to its design featuring one aspherical lens and two Extra-low Dispersion glass elements that minimize aberrations. Photographers can also produce close-up images with bokeh or background defocus with the lens’ maximum magnification ratio of 0.29x and mimum focus distance of 0.45m. Also offered is a built-in optical image stabilization ti support handheld shooting.
Additionally, the 18-135mm F3.5-5.6 Zoom lens offers fast, precise, and quiet AF performance, thanks to its linear motor, making it ideal to perform high speed shooting and fully utilize video capabilities of many of Sony’s mirrorless cameras.
The SEL18135 will be made available in Malaysia from end of February/early of March 2018.
Pokdepinion: The Sony E-mount lens series is getting a new addition to the family. Despite the wide range of focal length, it still features a lightweight and compact design. It will be interesting to see how much it is priced at.
