We finally have confirmation on the release date for Bandai Namco’s upcoming remastered JRPG, Tales of Vesperia Definitive Edition.

Tales of Vesperia Definitive Edition Release Date Confirmed

The folks over at Bandai Namco has officially announced the release date for the upcoming Tales of Vesperia Definitive Edition, the remastered version of the Tales game which first came out on the Xbox 360.

The new trailer focuses mostly on the story, showing both anime and in-game cutscenes, but we also see bits of gameplay. We get to see the renewed graphics, which looks pretty good for a remaster of a game that is ten years old.

The Definitive Edition will come with upscaled resolution and plenty of costumes and events never released in the west. It will include two additional characters on top of the cast included in the Xbox 360 version, Flynn Scifo, best friend and rival of the hero, and young amnesiac pirate Patty Fleur.

The game uses a special version of the Linear Motion Battle System (LMBS). Players control a single member of the party in real-time combat, while the other three characters are controlled by the AI via a set of custom parameters. It’s possible to switch characters in combat at any given time.

Tales of Vesperia Definitive Edition will be releasing worldwide on 11th January 2019 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC.

Pokdepinion: This is probably the most excitement I have ever felt for a remastered game aside from Spyro the Dragon. Can’t wait for the new year to roll around.
