The Pixel 3XL is a top-notch device too — leaked design renders reveal entirety of the Pixel 3 devices
Well, it isn’t all that surprising actually for Google to adopt the notch. Android P natively supports a notch in the display, so you could have that coming. While the Pixel 3XL comes with a notch, the Pixel 3 is going to feature a good ol’ 18:9 display without a notch. Talk about pro-choice there.
The Pixel 3 is rumored to feature a 5.4″ screen, while the Pixel 3XL will come with a 6.2″ display. The former’s display aspect ratio is expected to be 19:9, as usual for notched panels. Interestingly, Google is still keeping the stereo front facing speakers while other manufacturers clamor to shrink the bezels by throwing everything they can from the front other than the display.
I think there doesn’t need to be any speculation on the hardware specifications. We will surely see a Snapdragon 845, around 6GB or 8GB of RAM, and up to 256GB of storage. It’s interesting to see that Google might be transitioning to an all-glass back looking at the seamless look, probably to facilitate Qi wireless charging.
Google is also adamant on not getting onto the dual-camera bandwagon, still relying on a single rear camera for its photography chops. Pixel devices have always gotten top marks in the camera department, so we don’t have any problems with Google’s decision to stay single.
What do you think of the new Pixel 3 and Pixel 3XL? Would you be getting one?
